Our Founder
About Capt Colin Rydon
Colin has been involved in commercial aviation for nearly 40 years.
Colin is currently an A350/A380 instructor/examiner with Emirates Airline. Previously Colin was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pilot Flight Academy AS (PFA). PFA was headquartered in Norway and delivered commercial pilot training to airlines and individual students. PFA was regarded as one of the leading Pilot Academies in Europe with bases in Norway and Texas, USA. PFA had over 400 students and 100 employees. Previously Colin was employed at L3Harris where he was Vice President of Training. Colin was responsible for leading the training, standards and development for L3Harris across the global training organisation covering Academy and Airline training. In addition, he held the post holder role of Head of Training.
Prior to his 6 years of ATO leadership Colin spent time in senior management roles at British Airways, easyJet, Qantas Group and Flybe. Colin has held UK, EASA, GCAA, Singapore and Hong Kong Airline Transport Pilot Licences whilst being a qualified Instructor/Examiner and Senior Examiner on a broad range of aircraft for more than 30 years. He also holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration from Henley Business School. He has over 10,000 flying hours and has experience of the Dash 8, A320, A350, A380, B737, B757, B767, B747-100/200 and B747-400 aircraft. Colin is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
